I must say, I really like the colour champagne. Whether it's a pink champagne or even with more of a cream hue, there's something so soft and gorgeous about it. It always reminds me of a sugary sweet dessert...
I just finished a custom piece for a darling customer by the name of Annie. The lovely Annie placed an order for a pink champagne satin sash to match a fascinator in store for her upcoming wedding. I think the set looks so lovely together - Yum!

One thing I have come to realise this past year is how important it is to have space to sew... and breathe! Since I opened my store last March, almost every room in our home has been taken over by all of my sewing supplies. In fact, as much as I don't want to admit this, I'm beginning to think our home is somewhat of a hazard!
I actually make all of my pieces in the dining room of our home because we just don't have the space. We live in a beautiful new 2 bedroom city apartment but every day I wish we had an extra room or two so I wouldn't have to sew in the main living areas. I really do feel really sorry for my poor wonderful partner who has had to sacrifice his own personal space so that I can complete orders and work on new pieces. Oh how I love him! (Thanks Honey xx)
I haven't been able to blog much these past few weeks because we have been eagerly house hunting! We're hoping to buy a pretty 3 or 4 bedroom home with a yard (we can finally get a puppy too!) so I can have some dedicated sewing areas. But it's an exhausting exercise going from house to house... every weekend.... but it will be worth it in the end when we can finally use the dining table for it's intended purpose!
I am so excited at the prospect of finally have some extra room for Percy to live in. I can't wait to have a cutting room with a giant table so I can cut fabrics without bending over and straining my back and neck.... I can't wait to finally have a dedicated surface where I can sew and make things to my heart's content. I can't wait to have all of my beautiful fabrics and trim on display in a pretty cabinet... oh, I just can't wait!
I've been searching online for inspiration for how I can set up my cutting room and my sewing room. I was impressed by some of the arrangements I came across and I can't wait to finally do something similar myself! Yay + Yay = Yayness!

So, it's Thursday night... I have orders to make, orders to package, emails to write, dishes to wash, a house to clean... but instead I find myself lying here on the couch with my Mac on my lap... tap, tap, tapping away at the keys.
But, before I head back to my sewing table to catch up on some orders before bed, I thought I'd share with you a gorgeous little store out of Melbourne, Australia, that I know you will just adore! I first lay eyes on Ginger Caravan a little while ago. Emma Jay is a true artist, able to capture the simple things in life with the press of a button on her polaroid camera.

A lovely customer by the name of Liz recently sent me a photo from her wedding day of a flower she purchased from me not too long ago. When I first saw the photo I was so excited I almost cried! She looks absolutely gorgeous and I love the way she wore the hair piece in her low upstyle. I'm so pleased she had such a wonderful day!

I've been dreaming about making this flower for my store... I often find myself staring into space when I'm at work (day job), visualising my next little project. This little beauty has been at the back of my mind for the past few days but I finally had a free moment this morning to create it... I hope you like it! It's made from silk, organza, lace and stamens. More photos and details can be found here.
A little package arrived in the mail the other day with some little wooden blocks I ordered from TwoSarahs, a darling little store from Portland, OR. I put in a request for 5 little blocks and I couldn't be more pleased! Check out their store here!
I just love pretty belts and the way they can instantly glam up a simple outfit. Recently I discovered some gorgeous trims in my little storage box and when I saw them I was instantly inspired!

I've been hard at work on some new pieces and I just added them to my store. Here is a little preview!

I love Etsy's "Pounce" feature but I really should use it more than I do. It really is such a great way to discover some of the new talent out there!
I was especially excited when I came across James213, a new Los Angeles store that joined Etsy just a few days ago. If you're after some comfy urban inspired pieces in soft jerseys in sexy shapes, this is the place for you. Here are some of my favourites:
