changing seasons

Sunday, February 28, 2010

I realised this morning that tomorrow is 1 March 2010, the first day of autumn for all of us down here in the southern hemisphere. I can't believe summer is almost over, I honestly have no idea where it went! But thinking of autumn and the cooler weather inspired me to work on my newest piece for my store. It's made from a number of different pieces including vintage lace, champagne chiffon, feathers, leather and pearls.

silk organza ruffled gown

Oh my. Where do I start? Absolute gorgeousness by Tatyana Merenyuk from Red doll.

modern day bouquet

A lovely Etsian recently put an order in for 4 customised Annabella and Charlie clutches in ivory and cream tones. What I loved most about this order was that these clutches would be used by her bridesmaids instead of floral bouquets on her wedding day. So lovely!

I couldn't resist taking some photos of them before I ship them away on Monday morning...

These clutches will be accents to her bridesmaid's gorgeous black dresses - simple elegance!

I have a confession to make, and I know my boyfriend is well aware of this, but I have a 'little' addiction to collecting cushions and pillows.

I must admit, I have been quite good lately and I haven't purchased any recently (I'm under strict instruction to not bring home anymore) but it has been a bit of struggle trying to resist these urges, especially considering the range of gorgeous little parcels of fluffiness that are currently available. I've been eyeing these off for quite some time and I can't help but think that they will one day be mine.

hello world

So here I am, my first blog entry. I've been thinking about setting up a blog for quite some time and I'm so happy to finally find the time to sit down and collect my thoughts. I imagine this will be a place to blog about shop updates, what inspires me, my next creations, and of course, to highlight some of the wonderful work out there in the big wide world of Etsy and beyond.

Thanks for taking the time to visit!
